Lately...
A typical day in the Simmons home starts out with either a 6:30 alarm or sounds of Benjamin waking up on the baby monitor (usually the latter!) Robbie usually gets Ben changed and fed, and then we drink out coffee while Ben scoots around the coffee table or sits in his high chair. Robbie leaves for works around 7:30 and me and Ben play until he gets sleepy. Nap time is usually around 8:30. When he wakes up I give him some fruit, and when he's done we run any errands that need to be done - usually the library for some movies, Target or the grocery store. We come home for lunch and play some more then nap again around 2. I'll try to get some things done around the house while Ben snacks on Cheerios, and then we play until Robbie gets home. We keep the blinds up so that we can see when Robbie pulls into the driveway and Benjamin gets so excited! He stands at the window and bangs his hands on the glass, and says "Da! Da!" Rob comes to the window to see him, then comes to the front door. Robbie plays with Ben while I get dinner ready, then after we eat, we relax and play with Ben until he gets sleepy (anywhere from 6:30 to 8 depending on how his naps were during the day). We play on our phones, talk about dreams of the future, plans to pay off the mortgage as fast as possible, and things that happened during the day, and then watch an episode or two of Seinfeld. Then off to bed! I'm enjoying all the little routines that were settling in while our family is young, and just taking in simple moment throughout the day.
