Robbie's Graduation

Well the day has finally come! No more long distance, because Robbie has officially graduated!!! My family and his family made one final trip to Toccoa last weekend, and it was so much fun. Me and my mom got on the road around 11am, and met my grandparents at our hotel around 5. I got ready for Robbie's Baccalaureate Service, and met him at school. We got a quick bite to eat before it started and then met his parents there. It was finally starting to sink in the he would graduate in just a few hours! After the service we rode around Toccoa one last time (crazy!!!) and then I went back to the hotel with mom. We did a good job of getting to bed early, but were awakened at exactly 2:27am by the fire alarm!! It turned out to be a false alarm, so no need to worry :D.

Saturday morning came very fast after our crazy night, and I met my grandparents for breakfast in the lobby of the hotel. After that, it was graduation time! Robbie texted me a few pictures of him and his friends in their cap and gowns, and we made our way to our seats. Sitting in the auditorium and seeing him a few rows ahead of me, it really started to sink in - now more long distance! now more traveling back and forth on a 5 hour drive! How WONDERFUL!! The service went by quickly and before we knew it, we were taking pictures and saying goodbyes. We ate lunch in the cafeteria one last time, and then Robbie finished up some RA duties. Once he was done, we went to the antique store downtown, and then went to the hotel to rest for a little while. Once we were rested, we all met at Cornerstone for an amazing dinner! I had shrimp and grits, and they were finally everything I knew they could be! They were like what I imagine this recipe to taste like. After dinner, we went back to the school and loaded up the last few things, and said goodbye to Rob and Lou, and then went back to our hotels for some sleep.

Sunday morning, we all got up and packed, and on the way to the car, Robbie and Papa let Robbie's graduation balloons go in the air (so much fun! haven't done that in a LONG time!) We were finally on our last trip back to Savannah! It was a long drive, but we finally made it back, and got a chance to relax and enjoy the moment. :) PERFECT!
